'At the graduation ceremony for my HBO Bachelor's programme, the programme manager recommended that I follow up with an academic study programme. I decided to take his advice. I took a slight detour, with a one-year pre-Master's MBA at VU University Amsterdam, and eventually ended up at the University of Amsterdam.'
'It didn't take me long to decide I wanted to do Business Information Systems. The study programme was basically a perfect complement to my previous studies. In addition to the standard subjects, it helps you get to know yourself better, to reflect, take a critical attitude and adopt effective working methods. Once you've completed the various subjects, you write your Master's thesis; as far as I'm concerned, that's been my crowning achievement. My thesis deals with the issue of Virtual Entrepreneurship. I researched ‘entrepreneurial strategies within a virtual, organisational context'. I came up with the subject while working at my company Duraserve.'
'Now that I have completed my studies, I can really focus on my career as an entrepreneur for the first time in four and a half years. There's nothing I enjoy more, to be honest! While doing my Master's and writing my thesis I developed lots of ideas, and I hope I'll be able to put them to good use over the coming years!'
